Companies house id verification - faq guide

Supporting Authorised Corporate Service Providers (ACSPs) with Identity Verification

ACSP FAQ Guide

Companies House have announced after 18 November 2025 all directors and PSCs have to undergo an ID check either through Companies House or an ACSP, under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA).

At TrustID, we recognise these changes bring challenges for regulated organisations considering how to support their clients. To support our customers, we have developed a comprehensive FAQ guide. It brings together the questions we're most frequently asked about identity verification for the Companies House requirement and how the TrustID range of services can support.

What we cover:

  1. Who Must Be Verified, and When?
  2. TrustID Verification Process
  3. Personal Code and Codes Administration
  4. ACSP Obligations
  5. Companies House Systems and Roll-out
  6. Special Cases
  7. AML and Compliance Overlap
  8. Enforcement, Deadlines and Penalties
  9. Commercial Model
